Talea performs three pieces from the Wandelweiser circle, a group of composers whose work builds on the experimental traditions of Cage, Wolff, Lucier and Feldman. Inventive, austere, questioning, these works invite the listener to engage with the most basic materials of music—sound and time—in ways that are unexpected and revealing. Often quiet yet powerful, the music of Wandelweiser pushes us to deepen our awareness of the complexity and richness contained within our sonic environments.
